The Making of Eco Warriors

With the arrival of rain, we did the planting at several deforested area on Gunung Raya which is the highest peak on langkawi. We also donated and planted some trees at several resorts on the island. The trees planted are aim to attract birds and small animals. This so as to enhance and attract birds and other wildlife to the areas. The Eco Warriors are a total of 98 schools students of various age groups. It is hoped that the kids that had participated in “The JungleWallah of Langkawi” program will become the future custodians and protectors of our islands fragile nature.

DIGI Malaysia is the sponsor of the program, this being part of their company’s CSR contribution. Kudos is due to DIGI Malaysia for its foresight. Managing the program is the very active NGO for nature the Malaysian Nature Society and  The JungleWallas. During the activity a representative from DIGI Malaysia was also present. The participating resorts are The Datai, The Andaman , Four Seasons Langkawi and Mutiara Burau Bay Resort. Biggest thanks to Gunung Raya Resort for preparing the planting ground at Gunung Raya.  The resorts will look after the plants.  During this 2 days program we manage to plant 500 trees.

There are several guests from The Datai that have asked us to plant one or two trees for them and we are happy to oblige. We have a target of 4,000 trees to plant this year. Join us in our efforts to protect Langkawi precious remaining wildlife
