Meet The Team
Shah grew up on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Kelantan. He developed love for nature and wildlife since he was a child. He had a fascination for fishes and spent his childhood days building fish ponds.
The love of fish was so strong in him that he furthered his tertiary studies at the National University of Malaysia and successfully obtained a degree in Marine Biology. His main objective to study Marine Biology was to know more about the biology and natural history of different kinds of fishes in the world.
He is a licensed Open Water diver certified by NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) and has been involved in marine conservation work on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and has made exploration trips to several Malaysian islands known for their rich marine life like Tinggi Island, Perhentian Island, Tioman Island, Tenggol Islands, Redang Island, Kapas Island , Sibu Island and Langkawi Islands.
Since joining JungleWalla he found some new favourite wildlife. The elusive and nocturnal Slow Loris and the very rare Mountain Hawk Eagle, his favourite marine animal is the lesser known marine crustacean amphipods. A contemplative person with a lovely smile, friendly and passionate about nature, Shah loves to share Junglewalla’s natural history discoveries with you be it on our kayaking, evening walks, mangrove tours and his coral walks.
