This excursion is the most highly recommended trip while you are in Langkawi. Join our Mangrove and Limestone Cruise and allow our passionate guide to give you a great insight into its ecology and show its importance to humanity.
The Forgotten Forest between Land and Sea
A short drive to the jetty where we get on board a boat and explore the mangroves forest and the ancient limestone outcrops of the north east. Our boat will guide you through the twists and turns of the river, pass tall limestone outcrops and into the open sea to discover the wondrous creations of Mother Nature. Enjoy your journey through the maze created by the aerial widespread roots and thick fleshy leaves of the mangrove trees.
Wildlife is abundant. Here we may have an opportunity to observe the bizarre land walking fish, Kingfishers, and Eagles, if we are lucky even Otters and Dolphins may make an appearance. Numerous other animals make the mangrove their home to maintain the delicate balance of the ecosystem. Not only wildlife and fauna are prosperous in the mangrove, but you will also explore how it is the perfect environment for cottage industries such as processing charcoal and fish farms.
As we venture out, you will be surprise by the majestic limestone rock formations and sea stacks rising out of the sea. These once arcane coral and marine life is now home to a very unique floristic group of plants that can be found no where else in the world.

NOTESimilar Mangrove Cruises are also offered by various Langkawi operators. However our tours are unique, fun and informative. Our well trained and knowledgeable nature guide will share his insight to the importance of mangrove, limestone and watching wildlife in their natural habitat, we don't include any 'gimmick' activities such as eagle feeding, monkey feeding and lizard feeding. These are extremely harmful, unhealthy and unsustainable ecological practices - we do not condone such practices and advise you not to support such activities.

Tony and I wanted you to know how much your guided walks and mangrove tours added to the enjoyment of our stay at "The Datai". We hope to return, but meantime we have some great photographs to remind us. -

It was really an eye opener for me and family when we went for the mangrove trip.I never thought that I can get a lot of information just by going through this trip.I will definitely recommend the others to join this trip the next time they come to Langkawi.Keep up the good work!!!And Peter, please take care of 'our mangrove tree' that we planted that day!!Thanks again... -
The nature is original and beautiful. Great landscape and wildlife. But our tour guide (Hadi) made it lively and interesting with his vast knowledge of the park and high devotion to the preservation of the nature. Truly an amazing experience in the swamp... -

This must be one of the most interesting cruise that we ever went on... Thanks to your superb guide, Madi whose wealth of knowledge and passion for the wildlife and mangroves in the langkawi geopark astounds and humbles us all.
We will definitely come back to Langkawi because we had fallen in love with the place!! :)
