As the day draws to a close and the night begins to envelope it, a myriad of amazing and unique creatures begin to stir and come alive to start the night shift.
Dusk in Langkawi
Our tour will take you to the Gunung Raya Rainforest Reserve. Its covers an area of over 5000 ha of pristine virgin rainforest and at 890m is the highest peak on the island. The trip is timed so as to see as many wildlife as possible. No trip to Langkawi can be complete without expieriencing it’s rainforest as dusk decends.
Our naturalist guide will take your to the summit, along the way we spot for wildlife like the Dusky Leaf Monkey and The Great Hornbill which at 1.30m from tip of beak to tip of its tail is the largest bird on the island.
At the summit we take in the breathtaking views of the island and enjoy the sunset, after which we decend the mountain in search of the nocturnal animals. As the sun sets the nocturnal creatures begin to stir. We may get the chance to see the flying squirells, flying foxes and the very bizzare flying lemurs which are endemic to South East Asia gliding between the giant trees. A journey of sights and sounds not to be missed. Let us unravel the secrets of the rainforest for you.
