The most suitable time to observe birds at the equator is either early morning or early evening when they are most active. This half day tour is spread over two sessions. You can either do them both or the one you most prefer.
The Jewels of Langkawi: Rainforest Birds, Mangrove Forest Birds, Paddy Field Birds
Langkawi is home to approximately 200 species of birds, of which about one third are migrants. These migrants winter here between the months of September and April. This tour is suitable for both the serious birder and the birding enthusiast.
Morning Session : Time: 7.30am - 11.30am
The open corridor between the rainforest is best for observing rainforest birds. Among the birds we may see are Flower Peckers, Hill Mynas, Dollarbirds, Green Pigeons, Drongos, Tailorbirds, Babblers, Bulbuls, Sunbirds, Eagles, Woodpeckers and Oriental-pied Hornbills.
Our next destination takes us to a mangrove forest to search out the Brown-winged Kingfisher, Collared Kingfisher, Black-capped Kingfisher, White-bellied Sea Eagle, Brahminy Kite, Common Sandpiper and Little Heron.
Finally we make our way to the rice paddies in search of the paddy field birds. We may get to see Sandpipers, Plovers, Lapwings, Pond Herons, Egrets, Bitterns, White-throated Kingfishers, Blue-throated Bee-eaters, Chestnut-headed Bee-eaters, Blue-tailed Bee-eaters, Peaceful Doves, Spotted Doves and Plain-backed Sparrows. You will return to your hotel before noon.

We had a great Birding with you. especially the Magnificent Hornbills...!!!
We enjoyed a morning birdwatching session with Sri and an evening wildlife walk with Irshad. Both were most enjoyable, informative and enabled us to make the most of our stay in Langkawi -- it really helped us to know what to look out for on independent walks. We saw an excellent range of birds and other animals and were very impressed with our friendly and knowledgeable guides. These tours are to be highly recommended. Thank you so much -- we would love to visit your wonderful country again and are actively encouraging others to do so too!
